The Villa Costa was erected during the 16th century as a country estate of a distinguished Albenga family. It was renovated in 2009 by the current owners, who are themselves descendants of the original inhabitants.
The estate lies on a spacious property, enclosed by high walls and hedges, located in the periphery of Leca between small residential roads. Grocery shopping facilities are well within walking distance.
An extensive, park-like garden spreads north and west of the house.
On the southern side, there is an additional garden with lawn and lemon trees, connected to the main property by an archway. An antique mechanical water pump, no longer in use today, still exists.
The properties here described are located in this area: on the ground floor of the villa, apartment B; vis-à-vis, the Cappella Costa.
Villa Costa B for 4 (+ 1) persons, ca. 90 qm.
The apartment is at ground level and has direct accesses to the lemon tree garden. It consists of an elegant living room area with connection to the new kitchen. There are two double bed rooms, each with their own bath. (Completely restructured in 2009.)
Both the garden and the apartment can be entered directly from the street.
Cappella Costa for 4 + 1 persons, ca. 125 qm
This is the former house chapel of the villa. In the wake of the French Revolution, it lost its importance as a clerical building and increasingly decayed over the centuries. In 2001, it was rebuilt and converted into a comfortable residential house.
The independently located house consists of two parts: the initial chapel room and an adjacent wing. The chapel room has been divided into two floor levels, and each of the levels, which serve as bedrooms, is equipped with two beds (a double bed on the gallery, two single beds down below). The gallery provides access to a spacious terrace, with views onto the town of Leca and the hillside beyond. The adjoining wing serves as living space with additional beds. From here, as well as from the adjacent kitchen, large archways open into the lemon-tree garden. The bath is furnished with Portuguese Azulejo tiles.

Both objects taken together are ideal for group occupancy.
During the renovation, special attention was paid to preserve the antique stylistic elements (vaulted ceilings) in both houses and to integrate necessary additions in a harmonic manner. Accordingly, the houses are mostly equipped with antique, family-owned furniture and will delight especially those who remember Italy from another time.
Distance to the seaside is 4 kilometres. There, you can find all other necessary infrastructure.
To reach Alassio, it is advisable to take the "new" Via Aurelia directly to the centre of town.
